What We Did

Renewable Energy Project

a significant portfolio of anaerobic digestion facilities

PWCL provided various pre-construction and project management-related services for Melton Energy Tech Ltd.’s £25 million dry anaerobic digestion plant in the UK, supporting the project from feasibility through to commissioning and handover.

Project Background

Brigg Lane Biogas represents a significant portfolio of gas-to-grid anaerobic digestion (AD) facilities developed across the UK.

Each site was designed to convert pre-consumer food waste and other organic feedstocks into biomethane, injected directly into the national gas grid.

This large-scale programme underscored AD’s capacity as an environmental solution and a renewable gas source.

What we did

Paul Winter Consulting Ltd. (PWCL) provided comprehensive project management services, overseeing every stage from financing and feasibility through to commissioning and operational handover in 2018.

By managing all technical, contractual, and delivery processes, PWCL ensured cohesion across multiple sites and maintained tight control of budgets, timelines, and quality.

Across the Brigg Lane AD portfolio, each facility required careful integration of process engineering with robust building infrastructure. PWCL coordinated technology supply, civil engineering oversight, grid connection works, and equipment commissioning—ensuring that each site could reliably process 75,000 tonnes per year and deliver clean biomethane on schedule.
