Renewable Energy Project
Lender's Technical Advisor
Providing independent due diligence to support the financing of a national biomethane infrastructure network across Ireland.
Project Background
Nephin Renewable Gas is spearheading the development of a national biomethane infrastructure network in Ireland, with plans to construct 25–30 anaerobic digestion (AD) plants.
This ambitious initiative is set to contribute around 25% of Ireland’s 2030 biomethane target, supporting the country’s renewable energy transition and its commitments under EU climate policies.

What we did
Paul Winter Consulting Ltd (PWCL) has been appointed as Lender’s Technical Advisor (LTA), delivering comprehensive technical due diligence across Nephin Renewable Gas’s pipeline of AD plants.
This role involves independent review and validation of project design, technology selection, financial assumptions, and delivery models to ensure that the projects meet both technical and commercial bankability requirements.
By working closely with Nephin Renewable Gas, PWCL provides lenders with confidence in the viability of the projects, supporting debt financing decisions at scale.
Our expertise in renewable energy and infrastructure projects ensures that potential risks are identified early, and mitigation strategies are put in place.
In doing so, PWCL is helping to unlock investment in one of Ireland’s largest renewable gas programmes to date, playing a vital role in advancing low-carbon energy security.
