PROJECT BACKGROUND

Thalia Waste Management is installing an electric vehicle charging site at a Waste to Energy plant in Milton Keynes, repurposing a proportion of the energy generated by the plant for use in the charging of electric vehicles.

To be completed in 2024, this project - valued at £4 million - will also involve the installation of refuse vehicle charging points from the recycling facility for use by Milton Keynes Environmental Services, as well as a fourth private wire for use by the local bus depot.

WHAT WE DID

PWCL has been appointed as project managers; overseeing the design, installation & commissioning of a handful of private wires to deliver power from Milton Keynes Waste Recovery Park to Milton Keynes Materials Recycling Facility, and on to electric vehicle charging points in the nearby car park.

Alongside project management services provided, the team at PWCL will also provide commercial and quantity surveying services, health & safety support - including the principal designer role, site civil and building sign off, and we have been appointed as the employers’ agent.
