Ryan Barnett, BEng (Hons) MEI

Ryan Barnett BEng (Hons) MEI is an Associate Project Manager specialising in the development and delivery of sustainable energy infrastructure projects, with a particular focus on Anaerobic Digestion (AD), Energy-from-Waste (EfW), and wider organic waste-processing facilities.

Ryan combines engineering knowledge with structured project management to support projects from early-stage feasibility and concept development through planning, procurement support, due diligence and pre-construction readiness. He holds a First-Class BEng in Energy & Sustainability, is a Member of the Energy Institute (MEI), and has achieved the Association for Project Management Project Management Qualification (APM PMQ).

At PWCL, Ryan coordinates multidisciplinary teams comprising process, civil, mechanical, electrical, environmental and planning specialists, ensuring the successful development of technically robust and commercially viable energy projects. He has played a key role in the preparation of feasibility studies, project development programmes, procurement documentation, investment-grade data rooms, and Lenders' Technical Due Diligence (LTDD) reports for major renewable energy infrastructure projects.

Ryan has particular experience in integrating technical, commercial and environmental considerations into clear, decision-ready outputs for clients, investors and lenders. His work includes project governance, risk management, stakeholder engagement and the coordination of complex development activities across multiple disciplines.

Ryan has a strong interest in decarbonisation, low-carbon energy infrastructure, renewable gas, resource recovery and sustainable engineering, and is committed to supporting the transition to a more resilient and lower-carbon energy system.
